Slanted Facades and Framing

VS1 is a standardized kit of parts that allows for an unprecedented level of design freedom in curtain wall design. Due, in part, to the simplicity of the components and lack of horizontal framing, VS1 mullions can be slanted in multiple directions. This can include in-plane slants (laterally within the same reference plane as seen in the Central Bank of Ireland VS1 façade and St. Regis) or inward/outward tilting façades as demonstrated in Red Bulls/Ft Wayne/Nippert. What’s more, both concepts can be combined at once for a multi-dimensional slant as shown in the Resorts World Casino and QA Tower.
