"Glass Box" building enclosure
Standard VS1-A100, all-glass corners
VS1 was selected to wrap all four elevations of the existing M1 Bank building in Kansas City, Missouri. The architect’s design goal for a “glass box” aesthetic was achieved using aluminum VS1 blade mullions and all-glass corners, which are a standard VS1 detail.

❝ This mid-century building with parking structure below has been a bank since its start in the 1960s. While the main structure remains, we wrapped it in a new glass surround for onlookers to enjoy a modern building design that fits the current bustling downtown and also reflects its roots.
The concept of the design is to transform this mid-century delight into a jewel in a garden. The building’s presence will be enhanced by shifting the plane of the curtain wall out to the edge of the roof line. ❞
