Several glass wall scopes; 30' lobby
VS1 mullions: 12.75", 8", & 5" deep

This new Page-designed hospital in Virginia will feature several VS1 installations. The main entrance wall consists of a 30’ span, which utilizes the 12.75” VS1 jumbo bullet mullion with the standard point supported fittings with external patch clamp. Two smaller scopes in other wings of the hospital use the 8” and 5” bullet mullions with a SSG direct glaze, showcasing the design flexibility of VS1. The 8” location has an interior sub frame carrier system for an independent polycarbonate panel inboard of the glass. VS1 can easily accommodate alternate façade materials—in this case plexiglass for the safety of the patients—due to the simplicity of the fitting design.

FROM THE ARCHITECT PAGE

Building off Central’s centuries-old legacy, Page designed a cohesive facility to modernize in-patient care within a single campus. Natural and biophilic elements were integrated into every living space, providing users with outdoor views in each room. Double-height common rooms and ample glazing cultivate a warm and friendly environment.
