Long span facades at levels 1 & 12
VS1 walls with continous armature detail

VS1 was selected by for two scopes on the new Bank of America Tower at Parkside in Dallas, Texas. Designed by KPF, the building features facades at levels 1 and 12 that VS1 is ideally suited to bring to life.

At the lobby, VS1 spans 30’ with the 12.75” rectangular mullion hung from the level 3 structure. VS1 all-glass corners are achieved with both tension rods and corner tubes as the design intent varied between scopes. The face glass is structurally glazed to continuous horizontal armature plates at each horizontal joint, executed to control stress and deflection of the very wide glass panels.

The façade at level 12 also utilizes the 12.75” rectangular mullion to achieve a very similar installation but reaching 36’ in height. Compression struts are incorporated at the center of the span as at this location the system was base loaded, and a demising glass wall separates the sky lounge and tenant areas.
